Girls Soccer
The Girls Soccer team finished 9-7-1, facing a very tough schedule throughout the season. Their year came to a close in Shaker Heights with a hard-fought loss to Hathaway Brown on Tuesday, October 21st. The Blazers came out strong, scoring three goals in the first half and adding two more in the second. Although the Irish scored once in the second half, it wasn’t enough to overcome the deficit.
A highlight of the season came on September 8th against Warren G. Harding, when junior Piper Schneider, a dynamic scorer, netted four goals in a 5-0 win. Just 12 days later, on September 20th, Schneider struck again with five goals in a 7-0 victory over Cuyahoga Falls.

Boys Soccer
The Boys Soccer team finished with a 4-11-3 record, showing great improvement from the previous season under second-year head coach Denzil Antonio. The team’s playoff run ended in the first round of the OHSAA postseason in a hard-fought match against Geneva High School. Sophomore Joe Haller scored twice in the first half, tying the game at 2-2. The match remained even through two overtimes and was ultimately decided in a penalty shootout, with Geneva scoring 3 and the Irish unable to convert.
A standout moment came from sophomore Dwight Hodges in his debut for the Irish. In a tied match against Medina Buckeye, Hodges scored a hat trick, including the game-winning goal with just a minute left, securing a 3-2 win.
Girls Volleyball
The Girls Volleyball team wrapped up their season with an 11-13 record. Their final match came in the second round of the OHSAA playoffs against a strong Canfield team, falling 0-3. One of the highlights of the season was a commanding win over Canton Central Catholic on September 30th, where the Irish swept the match 3-0, winning each set by an average of five points.
Girls Tennis
Girls Tennis had a strong season, which concluded at the Sectionals tournament in Wooster on September 30th. Senior Madelyn Kastelic and doubles partners Stephany Lindsey and Milena Ricchiuti advanced to the second round, but couldn’t push past tough competition. Junior Emerson Huber went on an impressive six-match win streak during the season, including being the lone victory in a matchup against Archbishop Hoban.
Girls Golf
The Girls Golf team ended their season with a 4-3 match play record and strong showings in invitational events. Seniors Rylee Hoover and Caitrin Coyle capped off their high school careers at the OHSAA District Tournament. Coyle shot a 78 and Hoover an 86, both narrowly missing a state tournament berth. Their careers included two state appearances and three district appearances, an incredible achievement.Â
Boys Golf
The Boys Golf team finished with a 2-3 match play record and competed well at several invitationals. Although no players advanced past sectionals, there were standout performances throughout the season. Senior Nathan Sparhawk had an excellent showing at the Patrick Kloeker Memorial Tournament, held at the Meadville Country Club in Pennsylvania. He shot two under par and was tied for fourth after day one. The team placed 12th out of 16 teams, with Sparhawk and fellow senior Quinn Yori leading the way.
Football
The football team concluded its season with a record of 0–9, closing out the year at John Carroll University with a 24-13 loss to Benedictine. Despite the challenges, several players stood out throughout the season. Geovonni Vinson delivered an exceptional defensive performance against Walsh, while Rylan Hurley impressed on both sides of the ball in the matchup against VASJ.
Cheer
Our cheer program started the season with a bang. During cheer camp the entire program competed against over a dozen teams. JV brought home two first-place trophies, Varsity won the band dance competition, and the whole team earned the Spirit Key for being the most spirited school! Additionally, Varsity earned a bid to compete at the Ohio Cheer State Competition and with this bid, they will advance straight to state finals. The team has been bringing nonstop energy to every football game with brand-new chants and dances. Be sure to cheer with us and bring the energy at the Irish basketball games!
Cross Country
Cross Country had yet another successful season. The boys had a strong campaign, highlighted by a team victory at the Ashley White Invitational and a third-place finish at the Norton Invitational. Throughout the season, standout performances from Marcus Chuba, Evan Rea, and Caleb Parish led the team to consistent success. Their hard work paid off with a berth at the regional tournament, where they battled against some of the toughest competition in the state and finished 38th out of 44 teams.
The girls turned in an exceptional season as well, earning multiple invitational victories, including the Norton Invitational and the All-Catholic Invitational. Their impressive third-place finish at the nationally recognized McQuaid Invitational showcased their talent on a big stage. The team continued their momentum into the postseason, placing 4th out of 25 teams at regionals to qualify for the state championships, where they capped off the year with a 7th-place team finish!
