The Fighting Irish Baseball team is on a roll, extending its winning streak to six games and posting a perfect 4-0 record over the weekend of April 24–26.
The Irish competed in four games during the stretch, taking on Open Door Christian, a doubleheader against Cuyahoga Falls, and Chagrin Falls.
St. Vincent–St. Mary opened the weekend with an 8-0 victory over Open Door Christian on Friday, April 24, improving its overall record to 9-4.
On Saturday, April 25, the Irish swept a doubleheader against Cuyahoga Falls. In Game 1, a 10-2 win, Will Tober delivered a complete-game performance, pitching all seven innings while posting a 1.00 ERA and holding opponents to a .154 average. Offensively, the Irish hit .333, highlighted by JJ Pytash, who recorded a home run and two RBIs.
In Game 2, an 11-9 victory, four pitchers—JJ Pytash, Joseph Danzy, Aidan Reynolds, and Aidan Roberts—combined for a strong outing on the mound, finishing with a 2.00 ERA. Pytash led the group with six strikeouts. At the plate, the Irish continued their momentum, batting .345, with Danzy driving in four runs.
The Irish closed out the weekend with a 5-3 win over Chagrin Falls on Sunday, April 26. After scoring four runs in the fourth inning, they held off a late push to secure the victory. Aidan Roberts and Aidan Reynolds contributed on the mound, combining for eight strikeouts. Offensively, Joseph Danzy led the way with an RBI and a double.
The Irish return to action on Tuesday, April 28, when they face Cardinal Mooney at Bob Cene Park. First pitch is scheduled for 5:00 PM.
