The Fighting Irish girls basketball team earned a strong win over Gilmour Academy on Wednesday, January 28, at the LeBron James Arena. The evening began with a dominant performance by the JV squad, setting the tone for the night, before the varsity team followed with a hard-fought 66–48 victory.
Gilmour came out aggressive in the first quarter, building an early lead, but the Irish responded with poise and intensity. St. Vincent–St. Mary took control before halftime and never looked back, holding the lead for the remainder of the game to secure the win. With the victory, the Irish improve to 14–4 overall on the season.
The team now turns its attention to the final three games of the regular season. The Irish will face Princeton High School of Cincinnati this weekend at Big Walnut High School, with tip-off scheduled for 5:45 PM. They will then return home on February 7 to take on Chippewa at the LeBron James Arena, with JV tipping off at 10:30 AM and varsity at 12:00 PM. A senior celebration will take place prior to the varsity game. The regular season concludes on February 10 at the LeBron James Arena, with JV beginning at 6:00 PM and varsity following at 7:30 PM.
Go Irish!
