The St. Vincent–St. Mary boys and girls bowling teams competed in the OHSAA Sectional Tournaments on Saturday, February 14 and Sunday, February 15, facing strong competition from across the area.
The Irish had three standout performances that earned advancement to the District Tournament. On the boys side, senior Nate Sparhawk rolled an impressive 625 series, highlighted by a high game of 248, to secure his spot at districts. Sophomore Matthew Kalail also advanced with a 635 series, including a top game of 220.
For the girls, senior Mia Schmoekel delivered a strong showing with a 507 series to punch her ticket to the district round.
The District Tournament will be held at Rebman Recreation (5300 Oberlin Ave, Lorain). The boys will compete on Sunday, February 22 at 10:00 AM, and Schmoekel will bowl on Monday, February 23 at 10:00 AM.
