Abigail Merkle Picks Up Career Milestone In Win Against Padua

The Fighting Irish girls lacrosse team earned a strong victory over Padua Franciscan on Thursday, April 16th, winning by a final score of 13-5.

The Irish were led by junior standouts Abby McCarron and Abigail Merkle, who powered the offense throughout the game. Merkle recorded four goals in the win, reaching an impressive milestone of 100 career goals, an outstanding achievement for a junior. McCarron matched her effort with four goals of her own.

Additional scoring contributions came from Emma Zawaski and Piper Schneider, helping to round out a balanced offensive performance.

With the win, the Irish improve to 4-2 on the season.

The team now looks ahead to a busy Saturday, as they travel for a pair of games. The Irish will face Ottawa Hills at 11:00 AM before taking on Southview later in the day at 4:00 PM.
