The Fighting Irish Boys Basketball Team dropped a hard-fought contest to St. Edward on Friday, January 30th, making the trip to Cleveland for the matchup. After a tightly contested first quarter, the game was knotted at 16-16. The Irish carried momentum into halftime, holding a 28-24 lead at the break.
St. Edward came out strong in the second half, however, outscoring the Irish 46-29 over the final two quarters. Despite a competitive effort, the Irish ultimately fell by a final score of 70-57, moving their season record to 9-8.
The team now returns home after a month-long stretch of road games. Their next contest will take place at the LeBron James Arena on Friday, February 6th, as part of a tripleheader against Walsh Jesuit. Game times are set for 4:30 PM for Freshman, 6:00 PM for JV, and 7:30 PM for Varsity.
