Boys Volleyball Finishes Undefeated at Weekend Tournament

The Fighting Irish Boys Volleyball team traveled to St. Charles Preparatory School on Saturday, March 28th for a two-match tournament, taking on Bishop Watterson High School and St. Francis DeSales High School. The Irish came away with two impressive victories, extending their winning streak to five and improving to 7-3 on the season.

In their opening match against St. Francis DeSales, the Irish delivered a dominant performance, sweeping the Stallions 3-0. The Irish controlled each set, winning by comfortable margins with scores of 25-11, 25-21, and 25-16. Sophomore Devanand Brickman was named Team MVP after recording 20 assists and three aces in a strong all-around performance.

The Irish carried that momentum into their second match against Bishop Watterson. After dropping the first set 25-20, the Irish responded in impressive fashion, winning the next three sets decisively (25-17, 25-17, 25-16) to secure the match victory. Junior Elijah Wilkins earned Team MVP honors, finishing with six aces and ten kills.

The Irish now look ahead to a busy week of competition. They will begin on Tuesday, March 31st with a Varsity-only matchup against Mayfield at 6:00 PM in the LeBron James Arena. On Wednesday, April 1st, the Irish will host Louisville, with JV starting at 5:30 PM and Varsity at 6:30 PM. The week concludes on Thursday as the Irish take on Stow, with JV at 5:30 PM and Varsity at 6:30 PM, once again in the LeBron James Arena.
