Cross Country Advances to the Next Race

On Saturday, October 18, both Fighting Irish cross country teams competed at the district meet, the first leg of a three-part journey to the state championships.

The boys finished 13th out of 15 teams and will advance to the next round at Boardman High School. Junior Marcus Chuba led the way as the team’s highest individual placer.

The girls’ team delivered a strong performance, placing third overall. They were just three points behind the second-place team and twelve points shy of first. Notable top-20 finishers included sophomore Savaya Woody, junior Julia Rea, sophomore Daphne Kindbom, and junior Grace Shoemaker.

Both teams will race again on Saturday, October 25, at Boardman High School, competing for a chance to qualify for the State Championships. The race begins at 10:00 a.m. Come out and support the Irish!
