Freshman Wrestler Nolan DeShon delivered a strong performance in a highly competitive field at the Ironman Invitational. On Friday, December 12th, Nolen opened his day against Turner Ross of Edmond North (Oklahoma), the nation’s No. 3–ranked wrestler in his weight class.
DeShon battled closely in the opening round but came up just short in a 10–9 decision. He responded with three consecutive victories to remain in contention.
In his final match of the day, DeShon once again found himself in a tight contest, ultimately dropping the bout by just a few points.
The Wrestlers are back in action on Wednesday, December 17th at the LeBron James Arena against Wadsworth. Matches start at 7:00pm. Go Irish!
