The Fighting Irish Baseball team advanced to the OHSAA District Semi-Final after a dominant 10-0 victory over Harvey in six innings. With the shutout win, the Irish improve to 17-9 overall on the season.
On the mound, Will Tober delivered another outstanding performance, pitching all six innings while allowing just one hit and recording 12 strikeouts. Tober maintained a 0.00 ERA and a .050 opponent batting average.
Offensively, the Irish bats stayed hot, finishing with a .375 team batting average. Runs were scored by Quinn Hurley, Stephen Talley, Anderson Campbell, Joe Danzy, JJ Pytash, Matt Engelhart, and two each from Quinn Yori and Rylan Hurley. With the win, the Irish advance to the District Semi-Final where they will take on Revere, who defeated Ellet 7-2 in their Sectional Final matchup. The Minutemen closed out the regular season with a 14-12 record, highlighted by wins over Medina Highland, Tallmadge, and Cuyahoga Falls.
The District Semi-Final matchup between the Irish and Revere will take place Tuesday, May 26th at Skeeles Field, with first pitch scheduled for 5:00 PM.
