Fighting Irish Wrestling Team Wins Archbishop Hoban Invitational

The Fighting Irish Wrestling team delivered a dominant performance at the Archbishop Hoban Invitational on Saturday, January 31st. The Irish captured the team championship with a total of 125.5 points and produced multiple individual first-place finishes throughout the tournament.

Senior Duke Clayton reached a major career milestone, earning his 100th career victory in the semifinal round. He followed that achievement with his 101st win in the finals, defeating the seventh-ranked wrestler in the state to claim first place in his weight class. Junior Taggart Wade also continued his impressive season, extending his streak of first-place finishes with a commanding 10-1 victory over the fifth-ranked wrestler in the state.

The Fighting Irish wrestlers return to action on Saturday, February 7th, at the LeBron James Arena. The team will take on Elyria Catholic, with matches scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM. The evening will also serve as Senior Night, as the program honors seniors Rylan Hurley and Duke Clayton prior to the start of competition.
