The St. Vincent-St. Mary High School Fighting Irish Boys Basketball team closed out the regular season in dominant fashion with a decisive victory over Canton Central Catholic High School on Senior Night.
The evening began with strong performances across all levels. The freshman team earned a 41–36 win over St. Edward High School, and the JV squad followed with a convincing 50–34 victory over the Crusaders’ junior varsity team.
From the opening tip, the Irish controlled the game and never lost the lead. Shooting efficiently from start to finish, they set the tone early and maintained their intensity throughout all four quarters. Senior DeCarlo Prince turned in a standout performance, knocking down nine three-pointers en route to a season-high 32 points. Fellow seniors Leigh Cotton and Caleb Hill also made strong contributions, each adding seven points in a well-balanced team effort.
The Irish outscored the Crusaders in every quarter, securing an 82–52 victory and improving to 13–9 on the season.
With the regular season complete, the team now shifts its focus to postseason play. The Irish will face Wooster High School on Friday, February 27th at 7:00 PM at the LeBron James Arena to open tournament competition.
