The Fighting Irish Girls Flag Football team took on a challenging slate of opponents during their second weekend of action, beginning Friday, March 27th. The Irish faced Canton McKinley at the University of Akron, competing hard against the conference’s top-ranked and undefeated team. Despite the 28-14 result, the Irish showed resilience and determination throughout the contest.
The team returned to action on Sunday, March 29th, for a doubleheader against Ellet and Massillon. Facing two strong programs, the Irish continued to battle, falling 33-0 to Ellet and 38-12 to Massillon. While the results didn’t fall in their favor, the weekend provided valuable experience against high-level competition.
The Irish will look to build on that experience as they return to the field on Sunday, April 12th, taking on Tallmadge and Mogadore at Tallmadge High School. Game times are set for 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM.
