OHSAA Division II STVM Wrestling – Day Two Results

Two Fighting Irish wrestlers advanced to day three of the Division II OHSAA State Wrestling Championships, highlighted by freshman Nolan DeShon earning a spot in the state championship match at 113 pounds and freshman Cole Palma advancing to the consolation semifinals at 106 pounds.

106 Pounds
Freshman Cole Palma opened the day with a dominant performance against sophomore Sid Hunt of Bishop Watterson, earning a 17-1 technical fall. Palma followed that with a hard-fought 5-3 decision over freshman Blake Foucht of Alter. With the win, Palma advances to the consolation semifinals on day three.

113 Pounds
Freshman Nolan DeShon secured his place in the state finals with a thrilling 4-3 decision over senior Dominic Prosperi of Canton South. DeShon will compete in the Division II State Championship match Sunday at 5:15 PM, where he will face junior Jarreau Walker of Streetsboro.

126 Pounds
Freshman Quinn Hurley faced Josh Sheets of DeSales in the championship bracket and was defeated by pin. Hurley moved to the consolation bracket, where he competed against junior John Paul Hatgas of Benedictine, falling 5-1 to conclude his tournament.

144 Pounds
Junior Taggart Wade was defeated in the championship bracket by sophomore Anthony Oscar of Clear Fork via 17-2 technical fall. Wade moved into the consolation bracket where he faced junior Anthony Trentanelli of Perry and was defeated by pin.
