Softball Wins Against Gilmour Academy

The Fighting Irish Softball team earned an exciting 11-9 victory over Gilmour Academy on Saturday, March 28th, securing their second win of the season.

In a competitive matchup, the Irish showcased resilience and offensive firepower, finishing with an impressive .414 team batting average against a strong Gilmour squad.

The Irish offense saw contributions across the lineup, with runs scored by Sophomore Kenzie McFarland, Freshman Rhyan Johnson, Senior Ella Kim, Sophomore Kate Krabill, Freshman Savannah Whited, Sophomore Ali Zajac, and Sophomore Mia McKee.

In the circle, Freshman Rhyan Johnson and Junior Cameron Eckroad each pitched three innings, while Sophomore Ali Zajac added one inning of work. The team combined for an ERA of 8.00. Full game stats can be found here.

The Irish now turn their attention to a busy week ahead, highlighted by a Saturday doubleheader. They will play Ellet High School on Monday, March 30th at Davenport Park at 5:00 PM, before traveling to Aurora High School on Thursday, April 2nd for a 5:00 PM first pitch. The week concludes at Firestone Stadium with a doubleheader on Saturday, featuring GlenOak at 1:00 PM and Copley at 5:00 PM.
