The winter sports season is officially underway for all of our teams. This past week, the Girls Basketball Team faced off against Woodridge, the Boys Team had a scrimmage against Hawken and Holy Name, the Wrestling team had their first scrimmage at Streetsboro, and the Bowling Teams competed in the Ravenna Invitational.
Bowling Results:
The girls team finished 28th with a score of 1199. Top performers were Ashlyn McGuinness VM29, Izzy Bryant VM29, and Jianna Thacker VM29. The boys finished 25th with a 9 game total of 3177. Both teams will compete on Wednesday, December 3rd against Buchtel at Riviera Lanes. Competition will begin at 4:00pm.
Girls Basketball Results:
The girls had a dominant win at Woodridge High School. The JV started off hot with a score of 53-5 in only two quarters. Rhyan Johnson VM29 was the top scorer with 16 points, Damari Young VM28 trailing her with 11 and Kaitlyn Merkle VM28 with 9. The varsity followed swiftly with a victory of 56-16 in a full game. Top scorers being Melania Cornute VM27 with 14, Tatum Smith VM26 with 11, and Sydney Ferguson VM28 with 9. The girls have their next game on Monday, December 1st in a big game against Walsh Jesuit High School. JV will play at 5:30pm and Varsity will face off at 7:00pm. The girls first home game will be Wednesday, December 3rd against Ricky River. JV will start at 6:00pm and Varsity at 7:30pm. Tickets can be purchased here or at the door.
Boys Basketball begins the regular season on Tuesday, December 2nd in a game against Canton Mckinley. The games will be at the Canton Fieldhouse with Freshman at 4:00pm, JV at 5:30pm, and Varsity at 6:45pm. Their first home game will be this Saturday, December 6th against Euclid. Freshman will start at 3:30pm, JV at 5:00pm, and Varsity at 6:30pm. Tickets can be purchased here or at the door. Wrestling will begin their season at the North Coast Classic Tournament. This will be held at Independence High School on both Friday and Saturday. Friday starting at 3:00pm and Saturday starting at 7:30am. Go Irish!
