Three Irish Student-Athletes Sign to Continue Academic and Athletic Careers

On Wednesday, April 15th, St. Vincent-St. Mary High School proudly honored three Fighting Irish student-athletes who signed their National Letters of Intent to continue both their academic and athletic careers at the collegiate level.

These seniors have made a lasting impact on the school and community through their dedication, leadership, and achievements during their time at STVM.

The Athletic Department extends its best wishes to John McCarron, Jude Rothkopf, and Brandon Nicholson Jr. as they take this next step in their journeys.

John is a four-year varsity letterwinner on the Boys Lacrosse team at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School and has served as a team captain for the past three seasons. He was named the 2025 Offensive Player of the Year.

Off the field, John is involved in the Book Club, Pickleball Club, and Movie Club.

He will continue his academic and athletic career playing lacrosse at the Franciscan University of Steubenville.

Jude will join his teammate at the Franciscan University of Steubenville to continue his academic and athletic career in lacrosse.

A three-year letterwinner in both lacrosse and soccer, Jude has been a dedicated and versatile contributor to the Fighting Irish.

Off the field, he is a Marianist LIFE Leader and an active member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Student Council, and Irish Athletes for Christ. He has also earned recognition on the Principal’s List all four years of his high school career.

Brandon will continue his academic and athletic career at Ohio Dominican University, where he will play football.

A three-year football varsity letterwinner, Brandon is also a 6A Arizona State Champion. This past season, he earned All-Ohio Northeast District Honorable Mention honors and was named the Irish team’s Best Running Back.

Off the field, Brandon maintained a 3.4 GPA during his senior year.
